4 Days

The Amazon Forest, the most extensive equatorial forest of the planet, is a real wild paradise. When seen from above, it is similar to a huge green carpet.... Being in Amazonia is feeling like the beginning of the planet. The dense and stuffy forest is still mostly untouched and harbours in its midst a very rich fauna and flora.
The big Amazon forest is really a place to get to know and explore, enclosing four hundred years of legends, discoveries, adventure, dreams and an unforgettable experience. A mysterious place and a land of diversities.
The Ariau Amazon Towers hotel is built on the top of the trees, connected by wooden ramps with lodgings as comfortable as your home. Next to this marvel, monkeys, coatis (a tropical raccoon like mammal) and birds of various species show up to welcome the guests. Around the hotel you can take a canoe trip through the river banks of the region and walk through the secular forest.

You will make your own way to the harbour. We will board one of the regional boats which will navigate the Rio Negro until we get to the Ariau Amazon Tower. Welcome with typical regional fruit juice.

Ariau Amazon Tower

After breakfast we walk along the trails amidst the forest, which offers us new and pleasant surprises. Everything within the forest is tempting and exotic; Lunch. In the afternoon we shall visit a native house. We will travel by motor boat, which will take us through "igarapós" and "igapós" - narrow, overflowed channels and which only can be explored by small crafts.

Day 3

Soon after breakfast we leave our lodgings to fish piranhas in the waters near the hotel. The afternoon is set apart for a special trip by boat to Vila Acajatuba. Further on we shall visit a rancho of Caboclos, inhabitants of this region. There we will have the opportunity to observe the extraction of latex, Brazil-nuts, and piaçava.
